What do the colors of the wires mean?
Red is the positive or "hot" wire and black is the negative or "ground" wire.
What does it mean to "Make a good ground"?
In order for the PocketFinder Vehicle unit to work you need to properly ground the black (ground) wire. When attaching the ground cable to the ground, make sure that the spot you choose is bare metal, not painted, and that it is connected to the frame of the car.
Will my PocketFinder Vehicle unit work in the garage or in an underground structure?
The PFV (PocketFinder Vehicle) needs to have a reasonable view of the sky. PocketFinder can not guarentee the quality of the GPS connection level in a garage or underground structure.
Does my device send locates throughout the night?
No, Once you are parked for more then 30 minutes the device will go into sleep-mode and will shut down its antennas. Once your vehicle moves it will "wake-up" and send its current position to the PocketFinder website.
What do I do when a new update happens? How do I re-register?
You do not have to re-register. You only have to "Re-Active" the device. You can do this by hitting "Register" on the main screen that will display a menu with three choices. Select "Re-activate this device".
My family has PFV units. Can I view them all on the same account?
Yes. The first time you checkout and purchase the unit on the website it will create your account. Subsequently when you purchase a new device they will be automatically added to your main account (provided you login with the original username and password that you used when you purchased your first unit).
